Our Vision
Education
Our vision is to work towards improving & creating access for young people to a better education by helping them overcome any socio-economic barriers. By working closely with the Government and other key stakeholders, The Kashmir Pine Foundation will enable young people who would not otherwise have the opportunity to gain access to financial aid in the form of scholarships and support meritorious students from socio-economically deprived areas.
Education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world and the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty.
We have had a high percentage of young people in Jammu & Kashmir who did not attend school before the COVID-19 Pandemic, which continued more so after the school closures during the Pandemic. These young people have been deprived of their right to education, resulting in generations losing their childhood by being pushed into child labour and early marriages.
Our vision is that every child, with a focus on those from vulnerable communities, receive the opportunity to build a better future through opportunities and access to education.
Healthcare
It is our moral duty to ensure the well being of each other, even those in remote areas of Jammu & Kashmir, especially those who need but lack access to proper health services.
There is a vast list of non-Governmental organisations that conduct healthcare screening camps and refer those needing further care to the network of hospitals.
Our aim is to take medicine to the periphery of Jammu & Kashmir for those living beyond the rural areas.
Our interventions, which we will be developing in consultation with other stakeholders and Government are:
- Health camps
- Mobile healthcare
- Telemedicine
Nature
The purpose of the Kashmir Pine Foundation is to protect, conserve and restore the natural world through research and monitoring environmental conditions.
Environmental protection is the practice of protecting the natural environment by individuals, organisations and Government with the objective of conserving natural resources and existing natural environment and when possible, to repair damage and reverse trends.
The Kashmir Pine Foundation’s aim is to:
- Work shoulder to shoulder with our sister organisations: The Nature University, Kashmir and The Hangul Trust
- Improve and conserve the biodiversity of J&K through education
- To ensure that the natural environment is used wisely and continues to be available for the benefit and enjoyment for generations to come.
- To decrease vulnerability and improve adaptation capacity among poor local communities associated with climate change.
